The nominees for the world’s most prestigious award, the Oscar for this year have been announced at an event at the Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. In the list of nominees is one of Tamil Nadu’s favorite singers Bombay Jayashri for her rendition in Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. She had sung Pi’s Lullaby, which is a Tamil song in the Hollywood film based on the adventures of an Indian boy after he loses his family in a ship wreck.

The winners will be announced on 24th February 2013 at the same venue. Bombay Jayashri will join the list of Oscar winners in India like Bhanu Athaiya, Satyajit Ray, Resul Pookutty, AR Rahman and Gulzar if she wins the Oscar race. She is one of the most sought after contemporary musicians and has worked with many ace composers like Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman, Vidyasagar, Yuvan Shankar Raja among others.
