Theevram (Malayalam: തീവ്രം, Extreme) is an upcoming Malayalam crime thriller film written and directed by Roopesh Peethambaran, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Shikha Nair, Sreenivasan, Riya Saira, Anu Mohan and Vishnu Raghav. The film is produced by V.C Ismayil under the banner of VCI Movies and features music composed by debut music composer Roby Abraham, whilst cinematography is handled by Hari Nair and is edited by Kapil Gopalakrishnan. The film is a dark thriller which will have a socially relevant message and two plots, one set in the present and the other about five years back.It is about the outburst of a young man towards the legal system.

Thuppakki trailer gets record views in Youtube

Vijay's Thuppakki has set a new record on YouTube. Well, the trailer of the movie, which was released on October 10, has got massive response on the video-sharing website.

In just two days, Thuppakki trailer got 737,399 views on YouTube. It is the highest-ever hits for a Tamil movie. Earlier, Ajith Kumar's Billa 2 was overwhelmingly received by Thala fans and it was viewed 552,399 times on the video-sharing site in 48 hours. This means, the trailer of Vijay starrer movie has got 185,000 views more than Billa 2.

Last month, Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham trailer got around 5.5 lakh views, thereby breaking the record of Ajith Kumar's Billa 2teaser.

However, the 41-second video-clip is short, sleek and punchy. As promised, the Thuppakki trailer has lived up to the expectations of the Vijay fans. In the video, Vijay speaks lesser than the bullets that he shoot at his enemies.

The movie directed by AR Murugadoss stars Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal and Vidyut Jamwal in the lead roles.

The King Of Romance Yash Chopra died
Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra passes away

Legendary film director, screenwriter and film producer Yash Chopra is dead. Chopra, 80, had been admitted to Lilavati hospital in Bandra on October 13 after being diagnosed with dengue, according to TV reports.

Known for making some of the best love stories and action dramas, the veteran had been busy shooting for his last directorial project — Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

"He had been suffering from complications of dengue for a long time. He suffered from multi organ failure, because of which he died," a hospital source said.

According to reports Chopra had to even cancel a trip to the Swiss Alps for the filming of the last remaining song sequence in his upcoming film. The trip to had to be cancelled after he was admitted to Lilavati hospital.

Born in Lahore on September 27, 1932, Chopra began his career as an assistant director to I.S. Johar and his elder brother, B.R. Chopra.

In his over five decade old career, Chopra has made several hits like 'Deewar', 'Trishul', 'Chandni', 'Silsila', 'Veer Zaara' and others.

Mr Chopra is survived by his wife Pamela and two sons Aditya and Uday. RIP YASH CHOPRA.

The muhurtham was at 10.30 am and the marriage went off peacefully. Sreenivasan, father of the groom and his mother Vimala Sreenivasan along with brother Dyan were seen busy receiving and entertaining the guests.

Vineeth Sreenivasan looked handsome dressed in a traditional off-white mundu and silk shirt, whereas the bride looked ravishing in a fuchsia pink heavily brocaded Kanchivaram sari and matching gold ornaments. After the customary exchange of garlands, guests lined up to strike a pose with the newly-wed couple.

Maattrraan First Review

Maattrraan getting positive reviews from all over the world where preview shws were held!

Overall the film entertains highly espicially in the 2nd half and KV Anand stamps his name as a director delivering quaity commerical entertainer.

 The movie stars Surya, portraying conjoined twins along with Kajal Agarwal in lead roles. Movie opens with eratta kadhire song showing the growth of conjointed twins thorugh different stages. Their father, Sachin Khedekar, a lacto company owner is the numero uno is his field. He is been chased by competitors for the successful trade secrets but in vain. Meanwhile, akhilan and vimalan meets anjali (kajal) and falls for her. Both are not interested in their father's business and at some point knows about the unethical dirty tricks played by sachin khedekhar to boom his business.

 An incident results in surgical seperation of the twins and how they track down the truth behind the success formula of their company forms the rest of story.

Its a Surya show form the word go and the chemistry between the twins is remarkable. The effort he put in to play the conjoined twins in evident. 1st half is enjoyable with their mischievous activities and their association with kajal. Second half focuses on Surya's hunt for the truth and is more picturised in Russia  Cinematography is excellent and Harris didn't dissapoint with bgm and songs. Nani koni song is visually stunning. KV Anand scored in direction but should have taken more care in screenplay and the second half is long and dragging at times. Fight scene in the theme park having both Surya is clinical but a bit lengthy.

Surya, kajal Agarwal, cinematography, Nani Koni song locations, conjoined twin scenes, first half, songs, and editing are the positives of the movie. Long running time, Sachin Khedekar, screenplay, climax and scenes in Russia are the negatives. 

Maattran is visually and technically superior with a nice plot. Average screenplay in the second half spoiled the effort. 

Rating  : 2.75/5
Verdict : Final Verdict: KV Anand and Subha strikes Gold!!!

One time watchable but disappoints a bit against it's huge hype surrounding it.
